OUR TEAM
UC Davis Rogue is a competitive women's ultimate frisbee team based in Davis, California. We have an A-team and a B-team, each comprised of approximately 20 players. Our A-team focuses on competition and fast-paced skill improvement holding tryouts each Fall. Our B-team is geared towards skill development and strong fundamentals, and welcomes players all year round.
OUR HISTORY
The UC Davis Women's Ultimate Frisbee team was originally founded in 1987 as the UC Davis Cats. That year, and again in 1988, the Cats placed 2nd at Nationals. By 1989, they had proudly claimed a National Championship. In 1998, the team changed their name to the UC Davis Pleiades, named after the 7-star constellation for the 7 players per team that are allowed on the field in ultimate. The Pleiades attended Nationals multiple times in the early 2000s and won the National Championship title in 2004.
In 2013, the Pleiades realized that University of North Carolina also had a team named Pleiades. Because UNC had established their name first, in Spirit of the Game, Davis opted to change their name to Rogue, the team we are today. Now, Rogue is represented by a rogue wave, which stands for the strength and unity we create as a team.

"Most Rogue waves appear to form by constructive interference. In this process, multiple similarly sized waves intersect to create a much larger wave. If they intersect just right, with both their crests and troughs matching, the new wave may be as high as the sum of the intersecting waves."

OUR VALUES
As ultimate players, our team's most important value is Spirit of the Game. Because ultimate is self-refereed, calls are up to the players, and calls are often dependent on the players' honesty and integrity. We do our best to embody this Spirit both on and off the field. As a team, we love having fun as well as playing hard, competitive ultimate. We value our team's diverse community as well as our commitment to each other. Together, we strive for transparent team communication, high energy on and off the field, and growth at all levels of play.
